I feel sorry for the employees, but the quality had really bottomed out. I bought DC one of her duvet covers in brushed cotton, think it was £80+? After one wash it was covered in bobbles and looked tatty

Homewear is not affected though, it's the clothing and accessories side that has gone into liquidation.

Overrated and overpriced. Prefer the copies on the highstreet.

I always loved her homeware stuff but didn't think the prints translated as well onto clothing. Sad news though.

I'm surprised that the endless licensing sales couldn't bale out the fashion line but I guess there was always going to be a sell by date on such very, very distinctive designs.

I LOVED the Orla Kiely glasses that Boots did.

I found Orla Kiely designs totally hideous, but my best friend loved her stuff.

I’m not a fan of the prints at all, don’t think there’s been one I liked at all but the loss of jobs is awful

Just heard this, love many of the OK items but the clothes are a bit wonky & overpriced

I love the prints but even if I'd known they were available as clothes, I doubt I would have been interested.

They're more suited to ceramics. And Ipads.

Way overpriced and not that nice. Easily copied.

And yes it’s rotten to lose your job at short notice,not know if you’ll get paid

Feel so sorry for those who lost jobs, but really didn't get the whole Orla Kiely concept. Who wants to wear something that matches your radio, oven glove or your pot of yoghurt?

I have one of the limited edition Orla Kiely Douwe Egberts jars.

Sad but not unexpected.

I’m partial to Orla Kiely prints and possess a collection of bed linen, handbags and kitchenware albeit purchased during sales or from TKMaxx which speaks for itself really. The only items that I’ve paid full price for are the collection of jute shoppers from Tesco and the Douwe Egberts coffee jars.
