Safeguarding in schools breached

Handsoffmyrights · 19/09/2018 10:10

Schools are following dangerous guidance from lobby groups that completely contradict all safeguarding rules and put children at risk.

If you have 10 mins, please watch this video from a regular MN poster and share with parents.

Lisa, I hope you don't mind but I've posted in chat. It's too important not too.

I showed one friend today and she was aghast. An 'average' mother with no knowledge of trans issues (till I peaked her) and she gets it.

We need more parents to see this, even if I'm orderes back onto FWR.

Bump.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/09/2018 15:39

Thank you for the video. I’ve now got an appointment with DDs school in the morning and DS1s in the afternoon.

I’ve also shared the video.

Absolutely chilling.

Doesn’t explain how these men get access to the children. I’d need more info than that before I went to the school. I’d look hysterical repeating what she said. You need more facts before you can properly get outraged

IdahoJones · 19/09/2018 16:26

Bookmarked to watch later

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/09/2018 16:41

Bumping for the teatime crowd.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/09/2018 16:48

Lisa didn’t look “hysterical”, she was calm (a feat in itself given the subject matter), factual and articulate.

Bluelonerose · 19/09/2018 16:54

I didn't even know these people could get into schools!? Quite worrying really

Aquilla · 19/09/2018 16:58

Bookmark.
This is horrific.

HesterMacaulay · 19/09/2018 16:59

What a brave and articulate woman you are Lisa.
Thank you.

Meet0nTheIedge · 19/09/2018 17:14

Thank you for this.

3TresTrois · 19/09/2018 17:25

I work in a similar field to Lisa’s professional background and I echo every one of her concerns.

A small comfort is that people ARE starting to wake up to this issue. Far more slowly than I would hope for, but they are.

Can’t say much more without outing myself, but the huge conflict and contradiction between pushing unquestionable trans rights and a TRA agenda and safeguarding children is starting to register....

WhoWants2Know · 19/09/2018 17:32

Are all schools using the same information, then? How do we know if our schools are using this pack?

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 19/09/2018 17:36

Thank you for posting this. I’m going to send an email tonight.

IdahoJones · 19/09/2018 20:00

'Ask your children's school - have they looked at the tension between the gender ideology packs they've received, and Safeguarding which is the law of the land?' (Slightly paraphrasing.)

Seems rational to me. Very sensible.

ASauvignonADay · 19/09/2018 20:04

Can someone summarise? I can't get the sound to work!

lifetothefull · 19/09/2018 20:56

Just read the allsorts guidance. It's quite horrifying.

IdahoJones · 19/09/2018 21:00

I can't do a transcript and everyone will take their own salient points away.

A very rough précis of mine would be, I guess, that Lisa like most of us vigorously supports equal rights for transsexual people.

However some very dangerous people in 'masks' like convicted child rapist David Challenor are out there. He may have allegedly with his now adult child been involved in forms of cyber-crap against women asking questions about trans ideology.

There are also out there some other dangerous people abusing this sense of equality and goodwill in order to project a damaging ideology onto children that actually abuses them. Often physically, and mentally. A charity involved was ruled against by a judge over an important element in this, ie the trans ideology employed was ruled wrong in law by a judge.

Parents can shut the damaging ideology down.

Ask your school to assess any trans ideology packs from any groups or charities against the actual law on Safeguarding.

SunshineStarlet · 19/09/2018 21:17

Lisa mentions that in her blog is a copy of the letter (I think?) she sent to her child’s school. Does anyone have a link to her blog and this document?

Clinicalwaste · 19/09/2018 22:16

Thank you op. Bump. The school were very cagey when I approached them with the gaping holes their trans policy left open and the obvious child sex abuse being instructed by the trans schools pack they were using. I am really hoping they see sense and if enough parents write and meet with them then maybe it will give the teachers who also totally disagree with this the power and momentum to challenge it. I do not believe that vast majority of school staff can support the trans policies at all.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/09/2018 14:29

Great stuff!

eeekwtf · 20/09/2018 14:44

I'm new to all this, so have no idea what I'm doing! Can anyone point me in the direction of an example letter I can send to my child's school to check what is going on there? I.e. no mermaids.

YeTalkShiteHen · 20/09/2018 14:55

Ok, so had both meetings with schools. Initially they looked at me like I had two heads (both my kids only just started at the schools a month ago) however they became receptive when they realised I wasn’t anti trans I was anti loopholes in trans legislation being used to target vulnerable children.

DS1s school (ASN high school) were especially concerned and I’ve asked Transgender Trend to send them some resources which they asked for. Happy days.

DDs primary school were less concerned until I pointed out that our LA has indeed drunk the kool aid (I paraphrase here) and that this legislation does indeed affect our children in this LA. Headteacher promised to look into it.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 20/09/2018 15:02

We had the mother of a trans child getting a lot of support from the Feminist Board a couple of years ago. She told us she left Mermaids after finding out that most of the parents there were discussing ways of getting drugs online or from private doctors that the NHS wouldn't prescribe. She thought that was dangerous nonsense. So she left, and they pursued her, warning that her DC would commit suicide and it would all be her fault. Terrible stuff.

I would strongly advise any parent in her position to use Transgender Trend's material and steer well clear of bloody Mermaids.
