If the point of the run is to lose weight, then if you are adding food in addition to what you would normally eat, then you may as well not go for the run. In thirty minutes of run/walking you would burn 200 cals. Eat less than that. A small banana maybe.

Yes trying to loose weight and get healthier. What I mean is should I just have a banana or fruit beforehand then tea after

Eat a banana. Don't have your dinner and then go for a run.

Another vote for a banana. My fave pre run snack
Or a couple of dried apricots

I know this isn't what you asked, but eating an additional pasta salad to prepare yourself for your run will mean you won't lose weight.

CakeNinja · 18/09/2018 17:19

Do you actually need anything before you go? Surely you’re just negating the run by eating again?
Eat your dinner after.

Banana before then pasta salad for dinner sounds fine. At first you will not be burning many calories so you don't need to eat that much.

I can’t exercise without food op - everyone’s different. For instance I’ve just had spaghetti and meatballs and my spin class is at 7.30. If I only have an hour before I’ll have museli or porridge. Exercise with no fuel for me just wouldn’t happen.

30 mins before and I’ll have oatcakes and banana
