Life insurance- buy online or through IFA?

ProseccoThyme · 18/09/2018 08:45

Need to update my life insurance now my mortgage has changed.

Is it best to buy online (eg via MSE) or see an IFA?

Or something else?

Cheers!

I’m an IFA so I’m biased, but use an IFA!

Not only will the IFA have access to whole of market rates (including providers which are IFA-only) but they’re super useful if you have a quirky medical history/hobby/family history & need to know which company’s underwriters will be more kind.

They will also be able to tell you how best to arrange the covers given your particular circumstances (e.g. a joint policy versus two separate policies, writing the covers under trust, using Relevant Life Policies etc).

Thanks for that - you've convinced me! I've always used IFA's before, and didn't think MSE was quite the best way to go, so you've confirmed it for me. Cheers!
