Homework for the following day?

Is it ok not to do this? DD is 6.
She was given homework yesterday and we didn't manage to do it. She had to learn something. I did a quick test this morning and she only got one wrong so hopefully she'll be ok unless the teacher asks if she did it Grin Do they really expect that kids never do clubs or plan outings ahead on the off-chance there may be homework?

It sounds unreasonable to set homework to be in the next day at that age. Any reason why the teacher failed to plan ahead? In a similar situation, I think we would have done the same as you.
