May sound daft but could the likes of William and Harry marry whoever they wanted? For example a Stacey from Rhyl with 3 kids and works in newlook? Genuinely intrigued Grin

Obviously they are both married but if they weren’t Smile

No, the first six in line have to have permission from the monarch.

In reality, I think the days of the "arranged marriage" has died a death with Diana thankfully. Everyone else has been relatively free to marry who they want in recent years.

That said, Diana, Camilla, Sarah, Sophie, Kate, Meghan, Autumn are all commoners, some are divorcees, one was catholic.

I know Stacey too. I don't see it happening. Will isn't outgoing enough for her and she always says she doesn't fancy gingers. Plus I think they may both have girlfriends.

Who else can we set her up with?

No, the rest is fine but they would have to work in Next rather than New Look.

MacosieAsunter is right, that the first six in line have to seek permission from the sovereign to marry.

If they don't get permission, they can still get married, the marriage would be valid, but they'd be struck off the list.

I'm not sure if they would still keep their titles, or if their wives would automatically gain a title; otherwise presumably it would have been Prince William and Mrs Stacey-from-Rhyl Windsor.
