Steroid injection in ankle under General anaesthetic

Has anyone had this done? How long was your recovery time and did the GA or the injections cause more trouble? I am scheduled to have this done on a Monday and have work on the Thursday (about an hours drive each way). Desk job so it's more the driving I'm wondering about.

It'll ache like a bastard for a few days. Nothing you won't be able to cope with ime. You want the GA though trust me. I'll never do that awake again.

I had the external cage fitted then the internal fixators put in while I was awake. I am more than happy to sleep this one out
