Anyone completed the BPTC?

I’d appreciate some advice on how tough the course is and how best to approach it if possible?

DD is having a bit of a wobble after her first lecture. The class were shown statistics of the pass rate from last year’s exams and apparently more than half failed. She asked for advice from other students on a forum that completed the course or dropped out and was told ‘don’t do it’ by pretty much all of them.

So can anyone offer any thoughts on the course that maybe don’t include ‘don’t do it’? Is it very different from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree?

I've done it. It's hard work, as there's lots of rote learning, but it's doable. Two modules will also be options so she can chose areas of interest.

While I don't doubt that 50% will fail 1 or more modules first time round, most make it through on the resits.

Feel free to DM me if you need to.

Thank you, Wind. Did you find it more difficult than your undergrad degree?

I think the wobble is mostly a result of the pressure she’s placing on herself so I hope she shakes herself out of it.

It's very different to the undergrad degree, but not necessarily harder when you get into it. I think everyone wobbles in the first week as they are moving from an academic degree to a vocational qualification.
