Does anyone else have this inner nagging voice?

Not sure if it’s even a voice, more of an irritating feeling.

Tonight’s example is that the washing machine has finished. I always do another spin after as the cycle I use does 1400 but my machine has a 1600 option so I do that to speed up drying. But I haven’t done the final spin yet and I feel like the washing machine is sitting there saying “I’m finished, spin me now. Spin me!! I’m done. Spin me! Come on, it’s spin time!” Grin my machine doesn’t beep when it’s finished so it’s just sitting there in silence. It’s behind a door so I can’t even see the screen telling me it’s finished. It’s just that I know it’s finished and I can’t relax until I’ve done the spin.

Is that just me? Do other people get that?

It means you're task oriented :)

It’s very annoying!! Grin DC shout at me to “just sit down!”

I can't sit down till everything is fine. I nag myself. Well that voice I have that you have nags and yes it's the same irritating feeling

liverbird79 · 16/09/2018 23:11

Done not fine

Nope. My inner voice tells me not to think about moving till I absolutely have to!

No! If I notice the washing machine has finished my immediate thought is I'll do that later. Then I promptly forget about it until I want to use the washing machine again.

I'm like this for every task. I would find the inner nag quite useful, if annoying!

I suppose it is useful at times. It means things get done. But it’s annoying in that I can always think of something else that “i’ll Just do quickly while X is happening” and then before I know it the tea has been brewing in the mug for 45 minutes and emmerdale is over Grin
