Team games where they take it in turns to be in charge.

Races passing the balloon etc
Good old fashioned Perry games
Arts and crafts table
Make a den to eat picnic tea in.

Things I found successful:

Making and flying paper aeroplanes (have lots already folded). see how far they can make them go.

dressing up (have a big box of stuff and let them loose).

Buy a big bag of plastic insects or animals and hide them in the garden / around the house. See how many they can find. They can then hide them and find them again.

Disco music and a bubble machine / bubble guns. Have accessories such as blow up guitars and toy microphones.

Craft - decorate a party bag / hat / mask etc.

footballs etc in the garden - just let them play.

depends what they're into.

we did a fox theme as it's my son's favourite animal so had mr fox says ( Simon says but with a fox mask on) what's the time Mr fox then normal pass the parcel and a pinata. Ours was a family / friends party so quiet long and children just potter ing we are in a flat so they went in and out of my son's room as they pleased and played with his toys but what they all played for ages was a science kit he got with water and bubbles and food colouring in the garden

if you don't want to do it and money not s problem you ca hire a entertainer at home my friend did it she came as Disney princess and did glitter tattoos , loads of party games she also gave prizes , she did dancing with them asswell and songs.

What's so hard about organising a few party games?

LaDaronne · 17/09/2018 08:20

limbo dancing, all you need is a broomstick and someone to hold the other end. Passing a balloon along without using your hands. If you're happy and you know it with all sorts of silly actions.

I’d rather sit back smchat and drink wine

Apple bobbing on strings (washing line with lots of apples tied to it with short pieces of string), done on knees with hands behind backs.

Cut up an old cheap pack of cards and hide half of each card. Give each child one then a small sweet and a new half card when they find the pair.
