Sheffield ladies: local expertise needed, please!

Are there any Sheffield natives around who know much about public transport, please?

Let’s say you wanted to get to the Sheffield business park from Sheffield station. I understand that you can go by bus or by the Supertram to Valley Centertainment, but which is quickest and best, please? I am sprightly and don’t mind a bit of walking!

Any advice welcomed. I don’t know Sheffield at all and can just see myself getting a bus to Rotherham or something on the day of an important meeting. Thanks!

Are you sure you mean Sheffield Business Park? That’s out on Europa Link where the airport used to be and it’s bloody impossible to get to. Isn’t served by the tram at all, and the bus service is awful, like, one bus and hour which is always late (I had an interview there one snowy January and honestly I thought I was going to die Captain Oates death waiting for that bus.)

If it is Sheffield business Park your best bet is to get a cab there and back.

However there are a few small business parks near Centertainment which might be the ones you want. Or it could also be the one out near the M1 where the Unis AMRC is. If you could say the specific organisation you’re going to would be easier to advise.

Thanks Gerard170. The business I’m going to see is on Europa Link. Is it really that difficult to get to? Cripes.

If it's in Tinsley Park, Europa link then it's not bad at all, bu there are considerable tram works going on right now which could slow things down.
This link should help, it has all the bus, tram and train services in one place.

It’s a good ten minute walk to the closest end from Centertainment. If you get a tram from the station you’ll need to get one on the blue route to Malin Bridge. Take that one stop to Pond’s Forge, cross to the opposite platform and get a yellow route destined for Meadowhall which will take you to Centertainment in about 15 minutes. There are no works affecting any of the bits you will need to travel on.

Alternatively you can cross the road outside the station to the interchange and get a 72 which runs every 30 mins. But I still think taxi is the best bet.

Thanks for your help @Gerard170 and @KerfuffleShuffle.

I tried the bus and the tram (I’m in Sheffield for a week) and will be resorting to the recommended taxis for the remainder of my stay! Bus unreliable, late and dirty unfortunately, and walk to tram stop from the business I’m at took 25 minutes, even for a fast walker like me, through deserted roads on the industrial estate.

Interesting to hear that the roadworks at the industrial estate might be tram works...if ever an area needed a proper public transport link, it’s this one! No wonder everybody is in their flipping cars, churning out pollution. Thanks again.
