Best kids winter coats?
meladeso · 16/09/2018 14:08
Would like to buy a great quality really warm and waterproof winter coat for DS6.
Had one from Vertbaudet once which was good.
Anyone got brands to recommend?
Thanks

I go to outdoors shops such as Decathlon, Mountain Warehouse and Go Outdoors.

jynxa DH just said that. Just go to north face or something.

I bought my dd a joules jacket for school, i am very impressed with the quality. I got it in sale for £18 but i would be more than happy to pay the full £50 for it.

I bought one for my eldest DD from Land’s End. It’s 3 in 1 (fleece & waterproof which zipped together to make a thick winter jacket) and there’s a handy fold in the sleeve that you cut and pull out to extend the sleeve length as they grow. It lasted her years, now her younger sister had it.
Mountain Warehouse is a great too.

This Trespass jacket is amazing.
It's available in several colours and can be found for £20

Can't fault Boden ones. My DS has had one for the last 5 years and they wash brilliantly and look like new even after being washed and worn for 2 winters. Ready to pass on or eBay

I got a ski coat for my son a few years ago. We didn’t want the 3 in one type. It’s the best he’s ever had. I bought it straight from the O’Neill website. It somehow lasted him 4 years and then he finally outgrew it. Kept him really warm and was waterproof. Wasn’t too bulky either which was a plus point.

DC1 has this one:

The 3 in 1 feature is very useful as it "does" in it's various combinations for all seasons! I'm told it's very warm as well when it needs to be.

Another vote for mountain warehouse, much warmer, more waterproof and hardwearing than others we've had from eg next, George, gap, marks.
And really well priced as there's always a sale on!

The 3in1 types from outdoors shops are better than any coat in a fashion shop as they’re built for purpose rather than pretty.
The regatta outlet can be cracking if you catch it just right.
