Who is ill and feels a bit crap today?

I'm full of cold and feeling crappy. Appetite is gone, so I don't want any of my nice Sunday brunch options I had planned out. Just want a bucket of tea.

Enjoying being snuggled in bed though, and think I will spend the day on a boxset binge.

Me too. I feel lousy. Just waiting for a delivery that is on its way. Then bed for me. The house is terrible, not untidy but needs dusting and hoovering. Darent do it, I can hardly breathe.

LewisFan · 16/09/2018 13:43

I feel crappy too but my internet is broken so no box sets Sad

Each day has a new ailment with my current cold... today's delight is a wheezy hacking cough....

AbsentmindedWoman · 16/09/2018 13:45

Ugh it's such a pain in the arse isn't it!

I'm just over it now but Brew for you all. I'm so rubbish when ill.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 16/09/2018 13:51

Me too. Got a heavy cold and feeling yuk. It’s a beautiful day here and I’m just skulking around doing laundry. 🤧

SassitudeandSparkle · 16/09/2018 13:53

Me, mainly because of the antibiotics I'm on making me feel sick, and my DD has a terrible cold too.

DolorestheNewt · 16/09/2018 13:53

I'm not ill but I do have toothache (or jaw ache or something). I have one tooth on the upper jaw at the back that is apparently cracked (took four visits to a dentist and one to an endodontist at £190 to find that out) and I'm waiting for an appointment to get it taken out.

I also have another, on the lower jaw, that I've just spent £150 on replacing the filling on, that is still requiring round the clock painkillers. So I guess it's back to the same endodontist who seems to only look at one tooth at a time, and charges £190 for the experience. Yes, I know you're paying for their years of training, experience, dental nurses etc.

Endless x rays. A complete dental scan in Harley Street. No sign of any infection anywhere.

Despondent.

DolorestheNewt · 16/09/2018 13:54

I'm also sounding very sour, aren't I! Hope everyone's lurgies clear up - miserable to be feeling ill, and at least when the painkillers are doing their work, I can be reasonably normal! (though eating's a challenge, grump)

TomHardysNextWife · 16/09/2018 14:03

I've got costochondritis (inflammation of the soft tissue around your ribcage) for the 2nd time in 4 months and have also had a major sense of humour failure. The dull ache across my back, chest and shoulders is making me incredibly irritable and if DH says once more that he thinks I need antibiotics (what the fuck for, I don't know) I may just lose the plot completely. Feeling very sorry for myself today if you didn't already gather Grin.

DolorestheNewt · 16/09/2018 14:07

TomHardy
What you have sounds hideous, and if DH keeps asking how "the teeth" are, I'm going to give them a stress test by biting his damn fool head off.

lolaflores · 16/09/2018 14:34

I've done myself a mischief acting the goat on the new carpet in the bedroom.
Pain shooting out my dow stairs the, interestingly, up the back stairs and across mu back and hip. Down my leg.
2nd day of confinement
Can I suggest Trust on BBC if anyone is looking for a really good box set.
I am watching killing Eve now.
The painkillers are barely effective but not sure there is much anyone can do.
My bedroom looks great though

lolaflores · 16/09/2018 14:35

TimHardysnextwife, can I ask how you get inflamed ribs? Sou 3ds terrible

Flyingarcher · 16/09/2018 14:46

Me. Had major gastric pains on drive home from work on Weds evening. Really bad. Made it home and then was very...um...explody all evening. Stupidly went into work on Thursday because there was a do on in the evening which is a three line whip to attend and I thought it would look dodgy if I wasn't in and gastrics had stopped. Bad one sided sore throat. Made it, just, through. Took Friday off and was really ill with temp, massive gland on my neck which then gives me ear ache, throat, the works. Temp went yesterday so able to totter about and am safe to drive. Managed with no painkillers today. Just sitting doing sod all as cooked lunch and have knackered myself out. Debating about work tomorrow.

Hugs to all those who feel grotty. My legs feel..stringy...can't think what else to describe them.

Flyingarcher · 16/09/2018 14:46

Inflamed ribs sounds awful. Poor you.

DramaAlpaca · 16/09/2018 14:50

I think I'm coming down with a UTI, I just don't feel right & I'm never ill. Doctor's appointment for me tomorrow I think.

Hope we all feel better soon Brew

uncoolnn · 16/09/2018 14:52

Returned from holiday at about 3.30am this morning, so not only am i knackered and have the holiday blues, I also appear to have a cold and a banging head to go with it Envy

Babybearsporij · 16/09/2018 16:55

Me. I'm coming down with something. Throat feels a bit scratchy & I'm a bit "dry" but my ears & nose are slightly blocked. Hope it's only mild and this is as bad as it gets as I don't have time to be ill right now as I won't be able to chill with it!!

TomHardysNextWife · 16/09/2018 19:43

Costochondritis is inflammation of the soft tissue that connects your ribs to your sternum... it's one of those things that no one can really explain very well and is a vague cover all for unexplained chest pain. I've had to go to A & E both times as on the first day of it, you honestly can't decide if it's your heart or not as the pain is so intense. I'm waiting for a chest pain clinic referral to rule out angina but I don't have any classic symptoms other than pain... never get dizzy, breathless etc. Now I'm 6 days in with this bout, it's just a constant grinding achy pain that is making me feel so irritable. There is no treatment as such other than rest, painkillers and anti-inflammatories that in turn give you a dodgy stomach. The joys.

Glad I'm not the only one with a "helpful" DH. Even our youngest DD said to him earlier "Dad I really wouldn't keep asking Mum if it's better yet.........I don't have a black dress to wear for your funeral" Blush.

Hope everyone feels better soon Flowers
