Got messages from an anonymous woman telling me my husband is bothering her

SparrowOnTheHill · 16/09/2018 11:29

Both with the same user names

Suggesting that my dh is perusing her and she wants it to stop 😳

Handed it over to my husband this morning and he looked horrified and told me to ask for a number to speak to them which they refused-

Is this a scam?

Pursuing

Never heard of it but your DH seems unfazed. Do you have any reason to distrust him??

Reaa · 16/09/2018 11:39

Ask for proof?

SparrowOnTheHill · 16/09/2018 11:41

Atalune
Any human being can cheat I don’t 100% trust anyone.

I will ask for proof and see what happens. Phone number request was refused.

I trust my partner 100%.

Ask for his phone and have a nose? He shouldn’t object if he has nothing to hide?

SparrowOnTheHill · 16/09/2018 13:58

Phone checked and nothing on it.

Hardly anything at all. Hmm

The suspiciously empty phone is a big red flag

GorgonLondon · 16/09/2018 14:00

Did the messages refer to your husband by name?

Bluntness100 · 16/09/2018 14:01

What do you mean both with same user names?

I hate these threads. On one side you get the "her husband is cheating or hitting on me, should I tell the wife" and folks argue, yes, yes she's a right to know.

On thr flip side you get " she told me he was cheating, or hitting on her" and it's all, she's a liar.

It's so odd.

HollowTalk · 16/09/2018 14:02

I would have to reply and say I wanted proof.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 16/09/2018 14:02

If this was true, the woman would give a number and i dont think your husband would want you to talk to them

I dont think an empty phone is a red flag, my fiancee hadnt even got one...
If he did, there would be nothing on there

Bluntness100 · 16/09/2018 14:05

the woman would give a number

I very much doubt that.

AnythingButMagnolia · 16/09/2018 14:06

Ask her to tell you what your DH's number is, see if she knows it?

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 16/09/2018 14:07

Why would someone lie about this? OP, do you have many enemies?

Rebecca36 · 16/09/2018 14:21

The woman has planted seeds in your mind. Don't let them grow unless you have other, verifiable, suspicions.

It's sad but nevertheless a fact that there are some people who get a kick out of anonymously telephoning people and saying awful things. They are sick.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 16/09/2018 14:27

ask for proof

Ok things have moved on.

I asked again for a number so I could confirm details with the person messaging- wait for it-

“I lent my phone to my friend”

Then I got “I can’t talk to you anyway as I’m deaf”

I’m sure I have my fair share of detractors but anyone that may know me doing this type of thing is batshit crackers.

OP posts:
LondonLassInTheCountry · 16/09/2018 15:12

He wants the number to talk to the woman.
I understand that.

Ask for proof... If she is being honest, she will send proof

Esspee · 16/09/2018 15:15

I once had someone leave a message saying that my mother had died. Kept calling home, no answer. I was 5,000 miles away. Eventually phoned a neighbour who informed me my parents had been away for a week in Spain but she had seen them arrive in a taxi half an hour ago.
There are some sick people out there.

Aragog · 16/09/2018 15:15

Does she have proof/evidence of the harassment?
In what form is the harassment, and through what means?

Do you know her name? Do you or your DH know her?

PouchofDouglas · 16/09/2018 15:17

So someone messages you ? On Facebook. Saying your h is a pest. Does he follow that person on twitter of whatever
Are they claiming to be the person?

I’m confused

Starlighter · 16/09/2018 15:20

This is sounding more and more batshit!

Ask her proof or you’ll be blocking her.
