More a musing than anything. Never been personally in the situation- but why do people now post tragedy seem to head straight to a go fund me? Funeral post tragic accident? Public request for money. Sick child/adult- public fund it. Accident and can't work- public fund it. It seems no one has the ability or tries to cope, just heads to the internet with the story and a hand out.
