Have you switched to a winter duvet yet?

Gonna strip the bed later as I usually do on a Sunday. I'm thinking of making the switchover from the summer duvets to the winter duvets. Has anyone else done this yet?

We're just outside London BTW. Wish this hot would FO!

We don't have different duvets. The 7.5 tog is plenty warm enough. I have started wearing my thermal vests around the house though underneath my PJs because it is getting a bit nippy on an evening.

Gosh no, the forecast here is still warm! Over 20 this week during the day and about 10 overnight. I'm too hot in 4.5 tog (plus 2 Dcats who like to snuggle) and that's with the window open too.

I won't make it into the 9.5 tog before November I wouldn't think. New house is toasty!

No point, our house is warm enough that it's unlikely we'll need the heating on this year. Live in the warm south though.

Oldraver · 17/09/2018 16:35

I changed to the 7.5 tog a few weeks ago as the summer one was a tad cold. We also have a cotton bedspread on the top and it can be a tad warm.

Tis ok when there is just me in the bed as I can roll (cat permitting) to the cooler side

strawberrypenguin · 17/09/2018 16:40

Nope still far too warm. I am now sleeping mostly under my 4 tog though. Looking forward to getting my winter one back though

chuckiecheese · 17/09/2018 16:48

No it's 22 degrees here today!

Did give the Summer one a good airing outside & washed all the bedding so preparing for the changeover Wink

I threw a single duvet (from the spare bed) over my half last week - over the 4.5tog.

Over the weekend, we swopped to the 7.5 tog and that is bearable, just. That's narrower as well (only a king).

It probably won't be long before I change to the 9 tog (superking). And when it gets really cold, I may persuade DH to let me add the 4.5 tog back on (they snap together) - but he prefers it colder than me. So I'll just go back to using the spare one over me again.

Yes. Winter duvet with summer pj's. My sister thinks I'm bonkers.

chickydoo · 17/09/2018 17:46

No
Only got one Duvet, didn't know I needed 2.
Gosh 6 people in the house that is 12 duvets... not going to happen here..

Methe · 17/09/2018 19:15

15 tog all year here 😂

DickensianHysteric · 17/09/2018 19:24

I'm transitioning gradually! Grin I start off snuggled under both duvets for warmth, then get too hot so I throw the thick winter one off and sleep under the 4.5 tog one.
