Has the drill man returned?!

Help

So yesterday I had a weird thing where I thought I glimpsed a man by my bedroom door heading into the bathroom.. dismissed it as my mind playing tricks on me.

Until today, in the bedroom and my 3 year old tells me there's a scary man by the door looking at him!

Now at age 25 I'm scared to turn off the lights!

My eldest son used to tell me about a drill man, around the same age, who he insisted used to be in my bedroom and watch me sometimes. Is he back?! Freaked out! Please laugh at me or something and make me feel better because I'm not sleeping at this rate

I asked my son like three times, are you sure? By the door? He insisted that he's, a scary man was watching him by the door. This is in bright light, I couldn't see anything

But now of course I'm thinking of all those pseudo science articles about kids being able to see things adults can't... think I'm going to leave the landing light on tonight haha

Why did the 'man' have a drill?

ChasingGhosts · 16/09/2018 00:08

He never told me Confused that's just what he was always called

Well, he can't be a ghost if he has a drill. Ghosts don't have drills. Drills seem too utilitarian and practical to be ghostly. I think your son might possibly be imagining things - like my son had an imaginary 'friend' who was a monster. The monster was not a scary monster but just 'a monster' who was in the hedge, the garden etc...a bit like an imaginary friend - except that he wasn't a friend, he just hung around. Could it be something like that, maybe from a tv show or story he's read or seen?

As to seeing things out of the corner of your eye...I was convinced a saw a police car blue light earlier, but it was the sun shining off of the top of a blue bin lid. Eyes can play tricks.

Buy some shelves and he might put them up for you Grin

The drill man reference is from my eldest son who stopped talking about him once he hit about 5/6. It's my 3 year old that for he first time said about the scary man today! It's just unsettling combined with what I glimpsed yesterday.

That did make me laugh about the drill though!

Could your 3 year old have picked up on the fact you thought you saw a man?

If you thought you saw him earlier, logically there's no reason you would not see him again, I.e. when your 3 year old did?

Our minds can play very convincing tricks.

Keep the lights on and watch a boring documentary, or bbc news 24. Keep focused on real stuff. MN will be here if you need us!

Ooh bloody hell. I'd be freaked out too!
