How long can it take for adult teeth to come through?

DS pulled a few loose teeth far too early - they weren't ready to come out. But that was about 3 months ago or even longer and still no sign of the adult teeth. He's lost another 3 and they've all grown through.

Should I be worried? CAn it take months?

How old is your little one?

Teeth normally come out when adult teeth push them out. If they were taken out earlier than they should then the gaps will be there longer as the adult teeth won't come in any faster

Which teeth are they and how old is he? If they came out easily and there were no 'roots' on the teeth, then I think the others shouldn't take too long.

It can take ages. Lots of ds’s friends who have wobbled their teeth out have had gaps for ages. On the other hand, Ds was frightened of wobbling then (don’t ask!) and so his were pushed out by his adult teeth and he had no gaps at all. My older dd who has had several baby teeth removed for her braces to be fitted has waited several months for the adult teeth to drop down.

One front tooth (the other has fully come through), and an incisor and a lower left

Thanks newaverage, that's reassuring. I guess the front upper that has come through came out naturally, biting into an apple. He wobbled the others out FEARLESSLY

It’s worth discouraging them from wobbling- bloody tooth fairy has a lot to answer for- as I think with enough vigorous wobbling baby teeth will eventually come loose regardless of whether the adult teeth are ready underneath.

I didn't even realise that's what he was doing!
