I know I should of put this in one of the work related subjects, but none seemed quite right!! Plus I thought Id get more views here My DD is 18 & about 4/5 months into a hairdressing apprenticeship. She gets paid every 4 weeks rather than per calendar month. She should of got paid yesterday(Friday) but is still waiting at almost 18.30 today(Saturday)AngryAngry
I always thought it was against the law to withhold money-wages & benefits & that`s why employers & DWP paid you early-like on Bank holiday weekends, if you were due to be paid on the Bank Holiday Monday, you got your money on the Friday before
What I want to know is-what can she do??? How does she handle this??

What did her work say about it?

ShabbyNat · 15/09/2018 18:42

Yesterday they said they were at a weddingShock
All the other staff got paid later on in the day yesterday or early on today.
The owners are a married couple that own 2 salons.
Today, they said she would get paid later, but nothingAngryAngry

Surely to God that's illegal.
Wether she has bills to pay or she doesn't is hardly the point. She's worked for the money they owe it to her.
The fact that they've been at a wedding does not cut it

That's what I thought tooAngryAngry
But what can she do??
Surely there must be something??
Something down the legal route?? Or at least threaten them with??!!

If she is an apprentice then she will have a training provider who looks after her educational side of the apprenticeship.
Tell her to contact them on Monday if she has still not been paid.

She needs to keep ringing them and insulting they pay her asap

My dh boss does this every other month, he forgets to send his wages and by the time he phones his to remind him, we dont get it till the next working day.
We have move all direct debits to come out a week after he gets paid. There's nothing you can fo about it now.
They probably have sent the money late on friday and its not cleared on time. Threatening them with legal action and pestering them is going to lose her, her job.
