40th Birthday, long weekend, where would you go?

It's my 40th in November. DH has been trying to organise a family get together but, frankly, it's becoming a right PITA!

I've suggested we just sack it all off and go away with the kids for a long weekend somewhere.

So, lovely MNetters, in my shoes where would you go? 1 toddler, 1 9yo. Wouldn't want to go somewhere too far away and money is a bit tight at the moment.
