Neighbour shouting in communal corridors about killing someone with a knife (title edited by MNHQ)

So last night it all kicked off in the building I live in .. a neighbour on my corridor was screaming about killing someone with a knife, about killing the police, about buying drugs and them stealing her money ... the police were called (not by me) and arrested her. She shouted that she's bipolar and hadnt taken her medication. Also before the police arrived she used racist language beginning with p followed by a word rhyming with hunt.

I'm shaken, scared to go out of my flat at night (I'm a single parent, my dd is 17 and I definitely don't want her out on her own).

Is there anything I can do to have this person removed ? I feel she should be in sheltered accommodation as she's dangerous. I live in a housing association flat but not sheltered so she's not supervised.

What sounds unbelievable?

OP I think the facts about your neighbour are now utterly irrelevant

Really? Shock Maybe for you. FFS.

The op has no reason to believe that she’s going to get hurt

Yes. Neighbour doing drugs, not following treatment and standing in communal areas talking about killing people. Can't see any issues there Hmm I second the pp who talked about sexism in this thread.

FissionChips · 15/09/2018 22:21

What sounds unbelievable?

That any dealer would be stupid enough to talk in a communal area, frequent a place more often than necessary, never mind several of them being that daft.

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 22:25

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed

Let’s not pretend that vulnerable people with mh issues are not used by dealers who will in turn supply them with drugs that will more likely that not impact their mental health

This! My DGM next door neighbours flat is full of dick heads! They actually take over her flat! Then her flat get smashed in by the police looking for dickheads then the dickheads smash her flat in incase she grasses them up!

AutisticHedgehog · 15/09/2018 22:26

andhow - there are no facts at all. There is only conjecture. And conjecture which has resulted in extrapolation to justify extremely ableist views of which you too are guilty.

How about: bi-polar womanis beaten by her partner who prevents her from leaving flat to collect her medication. So she has a manic episode as a result. Now her neighbours want her to be “disappeared” as she is an inconvenience.

Probably utter bollocks - just as all the other conjecture is.

The OP does not know what the real situation is.

All we know is that there are many horribly ableist posts in this thread. That is ALL we know.

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 22:27

Well it must be nice living in your nice cosy world. Mean while people that live in shit areas do have to deal with this shit

FissionChips · 15/09/2018 22:28

Why would they even talk in those areas rather than her flat? It doesn’t make any sense.

FissionChips · 15/09/2018 22:29

Well it must be nice living in your nice cosy world. Mean while people that live in shit areas do have to deal with this shit

I live in a shit area

Itsmeaga1n · 15/09/2018 22:31

I dont know why but they do. They often have the flat door open and I can hear their conversations. I believe someone who buys drugs from them or sells to them also lives in the flats.

feedmecoffee · 15/09/2018 22:31

No but I understand that everything that has happened is a repercussion of my actions. It is a shame for me and it's been a difficult few years but after getting the right help everything is falling into place.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 15/09/2018 22:31

Because people taking drugs often become disinhibited

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 22:42

They can talk though! Where’s the police? They know that there is hardly going to be a bigs drugs sting. Plus how can they prove it? If they only have a small amount on them they will get done for possession. Most people only carry enough to be excused ass personal

op you need to start a dairy. I’m doing that with my Nan then you can show it to the landlords, council, police

FissionChips · 15/09/2018 22:44

Yeah, dealer will be carrying much more than personal use.

Because people taking drugs often become disinhibited

It’s cannabis, not crack.

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 22:51

Not the point Frisson

In my late teens and early twenties I ived with a predominantly weed seller, but it comes hand in hand with other stronger drugs.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 15/09/2018 22:52

It looks like you trying to have the thread taken down Hedgehog. This thread is a low point in MN but not because of the reasons that you think. You want to make it exclusively about ableism when it is about the support required by 2 adults with different needs. You don't seem very interested in people's contributions to this particular conversation. Perhaps it's time to start your own discussion?

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 15/09/2018 22:53

Yes I know

And deal with enough drug addicts and those with mh issues to know that cannibis when smoked often will cause users to become disinhibited and more often than not have a negative impact on their mh

And then we often see issues with medication not being taken

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 22:54

Yeah, dealer will be carrying much more than personal use

No. They can have a stash where they take out a nights worth, days worth or specific worth. OR they can can buy daily where they never have more than goes over personal use. .

FissionChips · 15/09/2018 23:00

No. They can have a stash where they take out a nights worth, days worth or specific worth. OR they can can buy daily where they never have more than goes over personal use*

But if they are going round to be supplied then they and the ops neighbour must have a large amount.

Itsmeaga1n · 15/09/2018 23:04

Just to clarify, at no point have I said they are dealers. All i know is they discuss weed in the corridor, or in their flat with the door open, with others.

greathat · 15/09/2018 23:15

@Itsmeaga1n hope you are ok. It sounds very scary and I would hate not to feel safe in my own home. I've got nothing useful but just wanted to give you a bit of sympathy

AutisticHedgehog · 15/09/2018 23:20

andhow - I am quite confused as to why you think I’m trying to get this thread pulled?

I can only assume you’ve missed the point yourself.

I have no interest in stating my own thread. In fact I believe a TAAT is now allowed?

Indeed, I think it’s very important that threads like this stand. Hiding things away does not solve a problem.

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 23:26

But if they are going round to be supplied then they and the ops neighbour must have a large amount

Not at all. You’d be a fool to carry all your stock with you

Bluecloudyskies · 15/09/2018 23:27

*just to add - it can be stored at many houses in the area

moredoll · 15/09/2018 23:52

Phone the HA on Monday and ask to speak to your Neighbourhood Officer. Get the name and contact details of the support worker for people with mental health difficulties. Speak to her and report the incidence with the police and the knife. Your neighbour may well be known to the HA. Make it clear that you are reporting anonymously because you are concerned for your daughter's safety. Also mention the drugs. It's use of premises once the HA know. Don't worry about doing this. You have a right to feel safe in your home.
Ignore all on here who have never had to deal with a situation like this.

Itsmeaga1n · 16/09/2018 00:22

Thank you more. I've emailed the HA anonymously (because I don't want my name mentioned to the neighbours - yesterday they were discussing who had called the police and said they'd f#*$ing kill them) and mentioned the knife, the drugs, the frequent police visits, the noise. I'll see how they reply. I'll keep logging it each time something happens.

When I took the flat I was advised there was a feud between my neighbours abd another tenant but they said it was "probably just tittle tattle" and nothing to worry about, i asked if i would be putting my daughter in a dangerous situation and they said no. I dont call this tittle tattle!
