Hi, has anyone done the Warner Bros Harry Potter London tour and can tell me what it's like? I will be travelling from Sheffield on a train with DSS 11 and 5. I'm not sure whether I can do it there and back in one day or would have to book a hotel. Any advice welcome. Thanks

we did the tour and thought it was fab. i personally would book yourself into a hotel, and make a weekend of the trip. however it may not be necessary, depending on what time you went to the studio tour. all the best

It's fabulous but it's actually near Watford so not in central London. You can get a bus from Watford station to the tour but you will need to factor in transit times to your day and ticket booking times! I've bern 3 times and it's an amazing day out Smile

We drive down and book in at the Croxley Green Premier Inn the night before the tour to give us more time to wander around as there is so much to see it would be a shame to rush around

Thanks is Croxley Green Premier Inn walking distance from the studios?

It's great, can't wait to go back. Second the comments about the location and transport, it's not in London!

InvisibleToEveryone · 15/09/2018 15:09

Croxley is the other side of Watford to the studios.

There's Hunton Park, which is devere group.
A travel Inn type place in Garston.
A few more in Watford town centre, there's a holiday Inn just a stone throw from Watford junction station, then you could get the tour bus there and back?

"Thanks is Croxley Green Premier Inn walking distance from the studios?"

No, unfortunately it's about 4 miles away.

Sorry, meant to add (and I agree with Invisible!) if you can stay very near to Watford Junction station, there is, I believe, a studio bus from there (?)

DH and I were in London for my birthday in May and he surprised me with tickets to the studio tour - it was brilliant! Worth every penny.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 15/09/2018 17:12

I’ve been. Travelled from the south east to Watford Junction then took the studio tour bus (£2.50 return) to the studio.

The tour itself was fantastic. DD and I spent just under 4 hours there.

I did get a “digital guide” but wouldn’t recommend it. It was good but unless you aren’t an English speaker you don’t need it.

As with most attractions food and drink are overpriced but I always factor that in when budgeting for days out.

There are opportunities to spend even more money... have a film of yourself flying a broomstick etc but we didn’t have any of those (DD is 20 so not a child who might be more interested). Plenty of your own photo chances though. Pushing a trolley through the railway platform wall, sitting at the false perspective ‘Hagrid’ table etc.

I’d go again....

We’ve booked for DD’s birthday in a couple of months time. I can’t wait, think I’m more excited than she is BlushGrin

We’ve just been, loved it!

We stayed at the Watford junction holiday inn - it’s a 5 minwalk from the station which is where you get the studio bus from.
It’s easier than it all sounds. Smile

Thanks everyone! Grin
