So another Saturday, another row about Fortnite..... It goes like this, yes I'll be off in a minute.....10 minutes later, just need to finish this game. Repeat for an hour, until I turn the Wi-Fi off, and a war breaks out.... May have to do a Kirstie Allsopp on the bloody machine!!!

I would be tempted to change the router password so they can not get on again leaving you in control of how long they can play for and them unable to reconnect.

What works for us is there is a preagreed amount of game time ( an hour basic rate each weekend day, which may be a bit more or less depending on behaviour ).
Set a timer, when it beeps they get to finish that round - I usually stay and watch to enforce this, or if too busy check the number of people left in the game , if this number rises they have started again so straight off. Any complaints and time allocated for the next session is deducted eg ten minutes.
Clear rules have made it easier for all of us. Good luck!

Better yet sell that machine and use the money for some you time that machine was nothing but a pain in your butt, so use it for a spa day or even dinner with your husband

Is it xbox? You can set up time limits for a child's profile. You can also set times they can and can't access it. All on microsoft account.

How old? Pre 12 too young - get rid. Post they need to learn to self regulate so as above you need a trade system in terms of minutes earned/lost depending on school and full home responsibilities being met. You control the WiFi!
