'We don't believe that your illnesses are as severe as you claim them to be. We are backing the atos assessment which, if anything, is generous in the points it has awarded you. You're a liar'

This is basically the outcome of dh's pip tribunal. He was previously awarded dla (high mobility & low care) and whilst I realise that pip is much harder to get, it's been a total kick in the teeth for us. He is now doubting whether there is anything wrong with him at all! (until he tries to do something of course)

I have my own mental health issues, and whilst I am trying to stay strong for him & our dc, I am struggling.
The doctor at the tribunal also questioned his esa support group. He asked if he had been made to apply for jobs 'he could do on the computer from home' . I'm worried sick they're going to take his esa away as well.

I need help to get past this and accept their decision, as unfair as I believe it is.

APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL.

You don’t have to accept it, there is an appeal process which sadly so many people I’ve heard of have had to use.

ATOS are bastards.

BettyCrook · 15/09/2018 11:09

so its gone to tribunal already? I dont think it can be taken further.

I believe that ESA is reliant on receiving pip so i think that would stop too. speak to citizens advice or disability charities near you?

sorry op!

Oh shit I’m sorry I misunderstood your OP, I’m an eejit.

Sorry OP. Is there any further action that you can take?

Your post although detailed isn't very clear.
Who is backing the Atos assessment your GP or the DWP.

HoldOnTight · 15/09/2018 11:20

Cab have said we can take it further if the tribunal has made an 'error of law' in making their decision. We will certainly look into it but it doesn't look hopefull

(p.s love your username YeTalkShiteHen)

It’s definitely worth looking into OP, I hope you’re successful!

The whole system is shit isn’t it? Ugh.

Thank you Grin

Awwlook it was the tribunal backing the dwp's pip decision. There was a doctor on the panel.

ShockAngry. What's the fucking point of appeals if the ones who are supposed to be your corner side with the enemy.
I thought on appeals they are there for you

HoldOnTight · 15/09/2018 22:10

We thought they'd be more on 'our side' too. The tribunal was more like a scary job interview, very official not even a smile from any of them.
