Spooky happenings

I am a massage therapist and an atheist so not ‘woo’ at all.

I was working on a regular client at her home on Thursday night, there is a long corridor beyond the room that we use, door was open as we were making sure the children were asleep.

I saw the shadow of a man running down her corridor.

So I said ‘oh, do you have a ghost?’ She looked a bit freaked and said ‘why’

I said that I’d just seen a man running down the corridor and she looked even more spooked. Around 5 mins later I saw the same thing but running back down the corridor (just the shadow on the wall) and told her. She said we would ‘talk about it later’ as her husband was away and I said ‘oh don’t worry, it doesn’t seem unpleasant, it could have been a child’ (it clearly wasn’t a child) the cat then appeared at the door shaking its tail and looking out down the corridor.

I went back last night. Her husband had come home and the house was far more full of life than when it was just her and the sleeping girls, she told me she had been in her ensuite (her ensuite is unusual, it is between the corridor and her bedroom so you must walk through it to get to her room) brushing her teeth, about a month previous and had seen a man dressed in a grey tracksuit, jog past her. It was so clear she believed it was her DH and called his name.

She was alone in the house, she then realised her phone had gone dead and upon inspection, the internet was down on her laptop and, the phones were out. Obviously she was incredibly freaked out but got some things working and moved on.

Her husband slept in one of the spare bedrooms a week later and when he woke, every draw and cupboard in the room was open. She is getting more and more senses of this running man and with more people seeing/experiencing it, she believes he is getting stronger.

Obviously this has totally freaked me out. Not least because I managed to identify him a month after first sighting and without her mentioning him to me, because her belief is the more you speak about them, the more they appear.

Op do you think she would hold a séance or something similar to find out what is going on?

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:04

I offered for us to do a clearing then and there but she would rather be gone when it happens and pay someone to do it (which I can understand if you’ve got the money)

It’s just so spooky and I have to walk back at night across her fucking massive driveway so I’m a bit spooked!

You say you are 'not woo' but offered to 'do a clearing' for her. That would suggest you are woo to me.

Yes I suppose it would... I suppose my logical mind says one thing but my experiences say another?

A friend had a weird experience in her home once and simply lit a candle and asked it to go away.

And it did. Wether it’s psycho-somatic or not, I don’t know, but it works

@LuluJakey1 Ha! Yes I agree.

You do sound a bit “woo” but I’m not saying that’s a bad thing.

Interesting story.

Unicornandbows · 14/09/2018 21:10

I would not be able to stay in the house screams the conjuring 3 to me lol

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:17

I’m there for three hours at a time!

I definitely won’t be stopping over 😂 and if I am, I’m keeping the cat

Can you be an atheist who sees ghosts?

I’m conflicted

Atheist just doesn't believe actively there is a god.. Doesn't rule out vampires ware wolves witches and ghosts technically speaking

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:24

The same client told me that she went to Belgium with a friend, who told his family that she was a clairvoyant, so in broken English they asked her ‘are you a medium?’ and she looked a bit miffed and said ‘well sometimes but quite often I’m a small’

Okay well I’m not sure I can deny ghosts. I’ve had too many odd experiences that don’t make sense.

Omgineedanamechange · 14/09/2018 21:30

So your first thought on seeing the shadow was it’s a ghost, plus you offered to do a “cleansing”?

Hate to break it to you, but you’re about as woo as they come!

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:32

NOOOO!

I really really don’t want to be.

I don’t know what else you would think if you see a shadow of a person run down a corridor in the middle of the night? What else could it be?

Unicornandbows · 14/09/2018 21:33

😂Bless her!!!
Please I love ghost stories 👻 tell me some of the other experiences you have had.

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:33

Like I really want to be the sort of person who just walks into a coffee shop and says ‘I’ll have coffee’

But actually I DONT just want coffee, I want a double shot latte with half a shot of caramel and little sprinkles of cinnamon on top

You don't want or be in tune with spirits, or an atheist?I have to admit op, you do sound quite fun.

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:35

Okay we moved into a house and had a TEENAGE ghost which was weird. Usual teenager, full of angst and strong. Had a wierd relationship with our child. We did the candle- thing and she calmed down.

I had a little old lady ghost who didn’t like living with men, I felt bad for her because we had a proper student house... I hope she’s happier now.

MN is the best for spooky stories.

My all time fave is the MNer who was chased out of the woods in the depths of the night whilst house-sitting for her friend. That was fucking terrifying.

CantankerousCamel · 14/09/2018 21:47

Okay so I don’t really see ghosts anymore, just the reflections of them or, the shadows because a couple of experiences really freaked me out.

When I was about 12 I stayed at a friends house and woke in the middle of the night and there was a woman sat on the end of my bed. I felt her before I saw her and it just scared the crap out of me.

Then about 4 years later I was in a friends masionette and she had a really cold bedroom above the lounge. The stairs came straight down into the lounge and we would be sat in there chilling etc.

I saw, out of the corner of my eye a little boy, looking absolutely terrified sat on the stairs. I looked directly at him and he vanished but he would sort of hover in the corner of your eye.

a few hours later, I was sleeping on the couch and I woke up, he had reappeared, still couldn’t look directly at him but this time he was obviously beaten up, totally different energy. Terrified.

That’s where we first did a clearing, to get rid of the nasty large Male cold presence in the top bedroom and then coax the scared child off the stairs.

after that I asked not to see anything again and now I jusd get whispers of them, the shadow down the corridor or the temperature, or the depression at the end of the bed (but thankfully no one sat on it)
