Said this about a particularly lazy colleague today and had my immediate neighbour in tears laughing at it!

I'm Scottish and she's English, she claims never to have heard it before!

No clue! I’m English and never heard this before.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 14/09/2018 18:37

Nope it just sounds silly to me tbh. Meaningless.

SoyDora · 14/09/2018 18:37

English and never heard it!

somethingfromnothing · 14/09/2018 18:37

I know it but I’m also Scottish. I have a feeling it’s a (great) purely Scottish phrase.

ILoveMyBobbleHat · 14/09/2018 18:37

I'm beginning to think it's rhyming slang for feck all? (feck aw)?

She does heehaw= she does absolutely nothing.

Means does nowt. Or the opposite if a positive statement made. Equiv of saying NOT.

Elllicam · 14/09/2018 18:39

I know it but I’m Scottish too.

Windyone · 14/09/2018 18:40

I'm Scottish and understand it. She does nothing. Great phrase, must use it more often. 😀

cakemurderer · 14/09/2018 18:41

I know it from living in Scotland.
I always assumed it was to do with mules cause they're lazy.
I might be overthinking it.

sexnotgender · 14/09/2018 18:41

I’m Scottish and understand itSmile

MrsJackRackham · 14/09/2018 18:41

I'll sometimes pop McGraw onto the end just for extra 'fuck all' emphasis

Lucked · 14/09/2018 18:45

Scottish so yes I understand - ‘she does nothing’

AsAProfessionalFekko · 14/09/2018 18:46

Hee haw aw ( bugger all)

iusedtobecool · 14/09/2018 18:47

I’m Scottish, I understand it.

PrimalLass · 14/09/2018 18:47

It's exactly what I'm planning on doing tonight.

FiddlesticksRiddlesticks · 14/09/2018 18:52

Ha, yes, heehaw, bugger aw. Such a great way to say someone is a lazy bugger (Scottish here too).

LittleBookofCalm · 14/09/2018 18:56

i assume it was a criticism of her laugh.

CormoranStrike · 14/09/2018 18:57

I’m Scottish and totally know what you are describing

PolaDeVeboise · 14/09/2018 18:58

hairypaws · 14/09/2018 18:58

The poetry, music and art of Scotland and I share the wonders of 'heehaw'.

Next week I shall introduce clapping the dog.

OP posts:
embarrasedandsore · 14/09/2018 19:01

I know what that means (also Scottish)... it's also the sound wonky donkeys make, however Wink

CormoranStrike · 14/09/2018 19:04

Haven’t heard of clapping the dog in years!

HairyPotter · 14/09/2018 19:05

Oh yes! It’s a well used phrase in this hoose!
