What the hell is this song?

Yesterday, walking home after dropping my daughter off at school, I heard a horrible creepy song blasting out of a car that had pulled up at the lights outside my house.
The only lyrics I could make out were " far away" and it was a woman singing, but it sounded horrible. And the music was a bit electronic and sounded awful. I've looked for it online as I can't imagine anyone wanting to listen to music like that but I can't find anything. Any ideas?

When you say creepy was it like a Celtic type haunting melody? Or a techno/trance melody

It sounded haunting and slow, I'm not sure what the instruments were but it sounded wailing. That sounds really weird but the only way I describe it, and a low woman's voice barely discernible.

I think the song might be The Lonely by Christina Perri. It doesn't sound as creepy when I listen to it now but I'm not 100% it's the song. But the closest one I've found.

‘Far Away’ by Martha Wainwright is a gorgeous, plaintive song...but could be that?

Isn’t there a carpenters song that goes “you’re so far away”.....mournful and emotive?
