How much do you sleep?

I've been wearing my fitbit watch for ages but only just started checking the sleep records. I do tend to read in bed quite late then wake up early when my dh gets up but i was a bit surprised to discover that my average is 5h42. I rarely sleep more than 6 hours and the maximum was 7h14 one day when we were on holiday. I do feel tired and lacking in energy in the evenings so probably need to do something about this but I wondered if actually it is normal. Does anyone actually get the 8 hours sleep we used to hear about?

I understand the likes of Trump & Thatcher a lot better now, although Thatcher said 4-5 hours was her life long normal (& it's not mine).

I am amazed at how well I manage on so little sleep. That said, last night was an astonishing 10+ hours. Rather unexpected!

Usually between 5 and 6 hours. Very rarely sleep more than 7 hours even if I'm off and could lie in, I just don't seem to need it. Less than 4 and I feel it though!

I reckon I get about 8.
If for any reason I get less for a few days I have to go to bed at like 8pm one night to make up for it!

I had sleep tracking on my garmin for a while and I don’t think it’s very accurate.

How do you feel you sleep? That's the main thing.

I don't trust Fitbit's results much anymore, not since they decided to mix "awake" with "restless". Apparently I was "awake" for three 20 minute periods last night, as well as lots of "one second/one minute" ones.

Even assuming you do forget the nanoseconds, you'd never forget chunks of being awake like that would you?

I get about 8 (Any less than 7 and I feel awful). I don’t have any kids. My sister has 2 young kids and only gets about 5 hours a night if she’s lucky at the moment
