My DH is paying for me and my dog to walk the coast to coast path next year and I will be using a company who take my stuff and book my hotels etc but my only issue is the last time I did any of the path on my own there was no signage, I will have my maps and compass etc but do get a bit lost sometimes even with those. My DH says it is much better signposted nowadays, is he right? I am getting anxious already.Grin

I live on the c2c route (ne coast) and where I am, there are signs. When I was younger (approx 20/25 years ago!) I rode up to Consett on the c2c route but I can't remember any sign posts but I'm sure there are.

Good luck!

I did it a few years ago as part of a group. IIRC there are signs but they’re a bit hit and miss and even as part of a group being led by an experienced leader we did still miss our way on one occasion. It’s a heck of a way to walk on your own OP. I would consider joining a group.

Also, make sure you have accommodation booked ahead of time. We saw a number of walkers who hadn’t done this and who were faced with long, off route hikes to find a b&b. Good luck.
