Lighthearted question - what do I do today??? (Have 5 hours at home)

Hi All, perhaps a very spoilt question but just wondered if anyone has any suggestions...

I’m currently off work this week as taking my daughter to school, previously they finished at lunchtime but this is her first full day. The question is... what do I do with myself whilst she’s at school!! Confused I’m usually really busy running errands or at work as my job is very stressful but I have neither and at a complete loss as to what to do between 9.30 - 2.30!! It’s rubbish weather outside and meant to be raining all day so don’t really want to go shopping or go for lunch anywhere but most of the jobs at home are done and don’t want to start any big projects. I’m finding it hard to just relax and do nothing Blush

Like I say, a spoilt question perhaps and don’t mean to offend anybody, not bragging in the slightest!!

Big pot of coffee and pastries, Netflix box set
Bath and a book
Get back in to bed and go on MN

Honestly try and relax. Don’t bother going to see a museum or whatever other suggestions you’ll get!

Following as this will be me on Friday.

I'll be doing a yoga class and batch cooking whilst watching Netflix on my laptop.

I was going to suggest visiting a local place you'd like to see be that museum or national Trust property type but only because threads like this remind me that there's a couple of localish ruined abbeys that I've been meaning to visit for years but haven't got round to.
Cinema?

mummytoc · 12/09/2018 06:56

Don’t really want to head out anywhere as don’t drive - just looked at cinema listings as they’re all not my cup of tea but thanks for suggestions xx

This is me now one day a week, as my youngest has stayed school and I am keeping my day off.

Yoga; craft projects; tackling the clear out jobs you can’t do with kids around.

Tuck up on the couch with a nice book. Call your dm for an uninterupted chat but only if that would lift your spirits.
Put on some rain gear and go for a long walk then back to a lovely hot shower.
Truth is the time will fly. Enjoy your morning.

I would do absolutely nothing, chill, read a book, listen to music

PlayingForKittens · 12/09/2018 07:16

I work shifts so have a few days off with kids at school.
Occasionally I do housework. Mostly I catch up on my TV, read, if my day off coincides with someone else I might go for coffee or lunch. It's great!

Go for a swim or to a yoga or fitness class
Then long bubble bath with a book
Then journal in a notebook for an hour making all sorts of lovely plans (Christmas lists, holiday ideas, home remodelling etc.)
Bliss

I will be dropping both dc off next week and have one day a week of nearly 6 hours of alone time! I've not yet switched back to full time now they are both at school.

I intend to
Do a pilates class
Run
Swim
Practice piano
Batch cook
Shop for the weeks food
Tidy my cupboards that badly need it
Lunch/coffee to catch up with friends i usually see at playgroup
(Not all on the same days)

If you have precious time off work id suggest
Shopping for autumn clothes
Pedicure or other beauty treatment
Lunch out either with a friend or alone

Singlenotsingle · 12/09/2018 07:28

Relax, catch up on a bit of TV. How's Jeremy Vine doing in his new Ch 5 morning show? What about those dopey Loose Women? Have a nice bath? Make a cake? Have a little browse round the shops?

scrivette · 12/09/2018 08:58

I would go for a run, do some tidying and sorting, buy a cream cake and then sit in my favourite chair and read my book.

StinkySaurus · 12/09/2018 09:01

Maybe spend just one hour doing some ribbish chore you’ve been putting off , just so you will feel ‘productive’ and then slob around and relax for the rest of the day guilt free! Enjoy!
