NHS vacancies

Did you see the report today? Something like 107,000 vacancies, risen 10% in the last 3 months. 11.3% unfilled nursing posts, rising to 14.8% in London. 9.3% unfilled doctor posts.

Cavell Trust surveyed 1000 nurses and found out 41% had less £500 savings buffer. 9% had used a foodbank.

Despite Trusts saving the wages of those 107,000+ empty posts they’re not paying for, the NHS budget deficit is over £4billion and rising.

There is a post on here from a mumsnetter who was sat in A&E for 19 hours and now feeling vulnerable, terrified and ignored on a mixed sex ward.

Massive story today about the budget cuts to the police and the impact that has had. Crime in the area I live has risen massively, a local meeting the other day about it attracted hundreds of residents (would normally be half a dozen).

Good old austerity and brexit are the gifts that keep on giving.
