Stupid FTB question

I have set up gas and electric in the flat I have bought (with British Gas). Everything going well, I should get the keys on Friday.

The email says For Gas and Electricity, as we don't yet supply your new home, We'll start the transfer from the current supplier, it'll take around 2.5 weeks from when you move in.

Stupid question- does this mean that there will no electricity on Friday?

Nope. Until BG take over your supply you’ll be with the vendors current supplier. You will owe them money for this and then start paying BG when the switch is completed.

No they don't switch anything off. The gas/ electric will be supplied by the current supplier who will then ask you for a final reading on the transfer date. British gas will ask you for readings too
