Where am I going wrong?

I've just sacked another cleaner. I can't seem o find someone who will actually clean the house.
The house just wasn't clean. She didn't move anything, like the kitchen bin when doing the kitchen floor, or the chair in the bedroom when vacuuming.
Dust everywhere, windows never cleaned, despite me saying I'd like them doing once a month.
The edges of every room are not cleaned, the shower cubicle has orange round the edges, the carpets have dusty edges

Is it me? How do I get around this? Please don't flame me for not cleaning it myself. DH doesn't notice, I work long hours and spend my days off with DS3.

I'm on the hunt for a new one now. Each of them has been as bad, I got them from local fb groups where people ask for recommendations. I don't think any are impartial reviews either.

I tidy up before they come round, toys etc are all away. We don't have a lot of clutter.

Do I need to write a list of everything I expect doing?

'Do I need to write a list of everything I expect doing?'

Yes TBH

And When you do the tour, I'd point out what you would like and any particular bug bears.

Yes, do write a list of all you need to be done but, quite honestly, if you booked people through a cleaning agency you would be more than impressed. I've never seen people work so hard or efficiently.

Use an agency rather than a Facebook recommendation. People seem to recommend friends who clean rather than people who have done a good job for them, so you have no actual recommendation about the job they do

Same here. I have just accepted I will have to pop round the house and sort out the missed areas afterwards.

I now have an actual list too. That's after losing my last excellent cleaner as he relocated.
