Is an interviewer saying "...right" to one of your answers ever a good thing?!

I had an interview for a much wanted job, which is a sideways career move. I won't know the outcome until next week.

Except I feel I already do Know the outcome, because one of the panel responded to one of my answers with "...right".

That's never a good sign, is it? 🙁

I say “right” all the time to indicate I’m thinking about something or agreeing with the point.

Right to mean correct.

I don’t think it’s helpful for you to overthink this!

I'm sure you gave lots of answers though, try not to focus on just that one. I got a spoon fed a prompt to one of mine and was all 'ha! Whoops...' but I got the job. My line manager had seemed a bit uninterested during the whole thing but after said it was one of the most enjoyable interviews he had ever done. Super good poker face.

You never know, sit tight.

You're right, I'm probably over-thinking. Midday drinking will help!

Keeping everything crossed for you. I recently had an interview for a job that is perfect for me. I got it! But didn't think I had. Log story short, I'd interviewed for the same organisation but for a full time post- I was offered it but had to turn it down due to change in childcare. I was quite down in the dumps for a while and then the part time post as advertised. The interview took place whilst I was on holiday so i rang up and pleaded for another date. It didn't look like this could happen but they eventually got a suitable date in for me.

So I revised all the previous questions and my answers were brilliant. However i went to the interview and the questions had all changed (same role only a few months after) Shock this was my face.

I was meant to find out the following day. No phone call. They called the day after and i got it!

(Not really a long story short).

So my advice would be to stop analysing everything. (I'm terrible for this) and keep everything crossed. Good luck!!!
