Yes should be fine. Mine took 2 weeks.

Iruka · 10/09/2018 12:06

Its pretty quick for renewals now, my last one came back in 9 days. As long as there are no complications or errors on the form it should be fine.

soupforbrains · 10/09/2018 12:06

the website says 3 weeks for normal renewals so I'm sure you'll be fine. especially as this is not the busiest time of year.

Malibucyprus · 10/09/2018 12:23

My DD took 10 working days, you get text message updates, advising when they receive the application, and when they've posted the new one. 4 weeks should be fine.

listsandbudgets · 10/09/2018 13:03

You should do.

I put in an application on Wednesday of last week and got an email this morning saying that the application has been approved and my new passport has been printing.

I did it online which seems to be very simple for a renewal. As long as your appearance has not changed too much since last photo you don't even need photo certified. Find somewhere that will do a digital photo you can upload to the site (people who did mine sent me a code and I just entered it on the website and the photo appeared).

You'll have to send your old passport back so still a trip to the post office I'm afraid

I got mine back within a week - using passport check & send at the post office speeds things up too

OddestSock · 10/09/2018 17:46

I just had my children’s renewed. They came back in 6 days

fussychica · 10/09/2018 18:05

Ours came back in less than 2 weeks when we renewed in early July. We used the online method, taking our own photos. Was a doodle to use.

NataliaOsipova · 10/09/2018 18:06

Mine was very quick. I think it speeds things along if you use the Check and Send service at the Post Office (they don’t say that, but I strongly suspect so).

10 day turn around earlier this summer

Groovee · 10/09/2018 18:09

Mine took 10 days last month

Frazzled2207 · 10/09/2018 19:54

Mine took about a week. The summer peak will have passed now. Get it off as soon as you can and it will be fine.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/09/2018 19:59

Mine took a week

Cantbelievethis123 · 10/09/2018 20:16

I renewed mine a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday. Had my new passport back the following Wednesday. As long as there's no errors on your application you should be fine

BanjoStarz · 10/09/2018 21:41

I had mine back in less than a week two weeks ago - they received the form the Friday afternoon before the bank hol and I had my passport in my hand 7.30 AM the following Friday a so 3 working days really. I was amazed (and glad I hadn’t stumped up for the fast turnaround)

midsomermurderess · 10/09/2018 21:44

Put in my application on a Thursday, had it by the following Thursday. They even texted me to say they were sending it.

TowerRingInferno · 10/09/2018 22:19

Mine took one week back in July. I didn’t do it online (because I messed that up) , didn’t get it checked, and sent actual photos not digital ones.

listsandbudgets · 11/09/2018 13:53

Hi I put my application in on Thursday last week. I've just had a text to say it should be delivered tomorrow so its less than a week at the moment

squeekyhead · 11/09/2018 13:58

Mine expired in 2014. I intend to use check and send at the Post Office to get a renewal. Will the 4 year gap pose any problems?

midsomermurderess · 11/09/2018 14:15

So long as your appearance hasn't significantly changed, requiring your photos to be signed off by someone, and you have your old passport, no, 4 years won't cause a problem.

BanjoStarz · 11/09/2018 15:05

Mine was out of date and lost so required counter-signing on the photos - still back in less than a week.

It’s realky quick at the moment
