If I applied for a renewal on my passport would I get it back in 4 weeks?

Yes should be fine. Mine took 2 weeks.

Its pretty quick for renewals now, my last one came back in 9 days. As long as there are no complications or errors on the form it should be fine.

the website says 3 weeks for normal renewals so I'm sure you'll be fine. especially as this is not the busiest time of year.

My DD took 10 working days, you get text message updates, advising when they receive the application, and when they've posted the new one. 4 weeks should be fine.

You should do.

I put in an application on Wednesday of last week and got an email this morning saying that the application has been approved and my new passport has been printing.

I did it online which seems to be very simple for a renewal. As long as your appearance has not changed too much since last photo you don't even need photo certified. Find somewhere that will do a digital photo you can upload to the site (people who did mine sent me a code and I just entered it on the website and the photo appeared).

You'll have to send your old passport back so still a trip to the post office I'm afraid

Ours came back in less than 2 weeks when we renewed in early July. We used the online method, taking our own photos. Was a doodle to use.

Mine was very quick. I think it speeds things along if you use the Check and Send service at the Post Office (they don’t say that, but I strongly suspect so).

Mine took about a week. The summer peak will have passed now. Get it off as soon as you can and it will be fine.

I renewed mine a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday. Had my new passport back the following Wednesday. As long as there's no errors on your application you should be fine

I had mine back in less than a week two weeks ago - they received the form the Friday afternoon before the bank hol and I had my passport in my hand 7.30 AM the following Friday a so 3 working days really. I was amazed (and glad I hadn’t stumped up for the fast turnaround)

Put in my application on a Thursday, had it by the following Thursday. They even texted me to say they were sending it.

Mine took one week back in July. I didn’t do it online (because I messed that up) , didn’t get it checked, and sent actual photos not digital ones.

Hi I put my application in on Thursday last week. I've just had a text to say it should be delivered tomorrow so its less than a week at the moment

Mine expired in 2014. I intend to use check and send at the Post Office to get a renewal. Will the 4 year gap pose any problems?

So long as your appearance hasn't significantly changed, requiring your photos to be signed off by someone, and you have your old passport, no, 4 years won't cause a problem.

Mine was out of date and lost so required counter-signing on the photos - still back in less than a week.

It’s realky quick at the moment
