It's his first full week of reception.

He has a pretty deep and rattly cough. He woke up 4 times during the night with it. Also complaining of sore tummy and he wet the bed (hasn't happened in 8 months+).

No temp and he hasn't been sick/doesn't feel sick.

Feel like I should keep him off but don't know if I'm being OTT. WWYD?

If you don't send him now at 4 he'll learn to be ano good waster who never gets to work on time and doesn't support his 4 kids.

just keep him at home OP, he's a baby and doesn't even need to be in school until he is 5

People do realise that calpol doesn’t fix coughs don’t they?

I wish people would stop giving their children calpol at the drop of a hat. It’s paracetamol at the end of the day, a drug! and it affects the kidneys, liver etc. It certainly won’t cure a cough!!

I know! The OP says that he has no temperature and she doesn't suggest he's in pain. Why are so many people suggesting an incorrect treatment?

ChateauneufDuTwat · 10/09/2018 08:01

He's up, he's chomping cornflakes and hasn't mentioned the sore tummy again.

Going to take him in on the basis that I can be there in less than 3 minutes if he gets worse. Oh and won't be giving calpol!

Thanks for the advice Flowers.

I hope he’s feeling better soon!

Can’t believe the number of suggestions for Calpol though. Has it become some kind of magic cure-all in the years since my kids were younger?Hmm

Anastassiabeaverhausen · 10/09/2018 13:17

Yeah no concern for the other kids who will now catch what he has Hmm
