How do I know if it's thrush or BV?

I haven't had it for years. I do sometimes get lichen sclerosis, for which I use an ointment, but it doesn't feel like it this time.

Can a pharmacist help me if I go into a shop to ask? Really not up for seeing my GP right now, I think she's away anyway.

It's come about as a side effect of some Crohn's medication that I was given this week. I should've known this would happen.

I'm so fed up. Fed up of constant hospital visits. I'm allergic to so many medications. The one thing I'm not allergic to hasn't been made for ages due to manufacturing problems so they tried me on something else and it's upset my vagina straight away.

Canneston do an over the counter test that will tell the difference between them. It’s about £10.

There's a kit in most supermarkets that tell you which one it is. Then there's an OTC treatment for both.

I find BV unpleasant smell wise. Thrush is just uncomfortable without a strong smell.

Thank you. I will ask tomorrow at a pharmacy.

I hate this constant round of doctors and hospitals. So much stress.

Thrush is itchy, with no real odour and discharge will be creamy, white in colour and thick.

With BV, there is a strong fishy smell and discharge is usually grey/green and lots of it. It doesn't really itch like thrush does.

It's a bit of both. It really could be either.

Is it possible to have both at the same time or does it not work like that?

You don't even need to speak to a chemist. Everything you need is on the shelves.

I find BV does itch a fair bit tbh. But I'm assuming it's because there's a lot of discharge which is uncomfortable.
