TV Licence refund

New to mn so if this should be posted somewhere, sorry in advance.
Anyway I'd been thinking of ditching TV for a while and the licence was due to expire 31 August. Half way through watching the German Grand Prix - whenever in June/July that was the TV went BANG and smoke came out the top. So since then I haven't watched any programmes on a TV and I've not watched and do not intend to watch anything on iplayer either. So I online contacted TV licensing to cancel the licence but because I paid by direct debit, I've already half paid for the next licence. They said they would send me a form to get a refund but nothing has arrived in over a week. Should I keep on messaging them or should I try to find an address to write to them. I am partly deaf so phone calls are tricky at the best of times. I prefer to text or email or message people. Anyone navigated this path and can offer any advice?

www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/refunds-and-cancellations/apply-for-a-refund this says you can apply online for a refund

Thanks dementedpixie. That is the link I used to contact them over a week go. You get all the way to filling in the refund form then you have to print it off and sign it. You apparently also need to provide proof of reason for refund. I can hardly send them the burned out TV set even though it was only a 24 inch screen :) . I have messaged them again and will wait to see if a form ever arrives and just hope that eventually I get some of the £74 I've paid in advance for the 2018/19 licence to be refunded.
