So bed time has always a battle. Wee guy never sleeps he's nearly 1 (wow that flew past)
He gets dinner about 6 then plays for a bit then milk/supper around 7.00 then the battle starts he dosent end up going down untill 10. He dosent sleep through and is up between 5 and 7.

And help or advice would be great from one tierd mummy 😴😴

My almost 1 year old's routine is:
Awake about 6.30 and a bottle
Nap 9.15-10
Small snack eg fruit
Lunch at 12
Nap 1-2.30
Snack/milk at 3.30
Tea at 5pm
Bath and bottle about 6-6.30
In to bed between 6.30-7pm

My 16month old has only JUST started having the odd night of sleeping through (7-5am).

Typically tea at 5, bath at 5.30, supper 6.30, bed between 7-8.30.

Wakes a few times a night usually for a drink, but does still have the odd night where he just won't settle and is up for hours through the night, wide awake thinking it's playtime!

I find that if he hasn't had a nap during the day he just doesn't sleep well through the night, overtired maybe? But if he has 2 x1 hour naps he has the best chance of sleeping through.

Make sure he’s eating enough in the day too OP, it really helped my DS. The Caroline Walker Trust has produced a useful document called Eating Well, ages 1 to 4 which might help Smile

All he does is eat 😂 no worries there. We was coming back home after the park and off he went in the car oops he only had 30 mins so hopefully it's not too bad

This is the difficulty with dropping naps, the accidental naps when in car or buggy!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/09/2018 18:01

Let us know how you get on later NotSo Smile

How does it usually go putting him to sleep - is there anywhere we can help there? Do you sit with him/does he have a comforter etc.

NotSoThinLizzy · 10/09/2018 08:35

He just wants to boob to sleep but will come off muck about pull my hair ect..So I end up rocking him in the pram then boobing him agaim takes about a hour in total. So very over tierd by the time he sleeps. Funnily enough he slept all night last night 😂

I think he dosent get enough down time to get ready for sleep as DD has ADHD and night time is a battle with her too shouting and getting excited ect.... He loves books but we don't get much quite time for them 😂

How old is DD? Is there any way DH could take her out for half an hour for a walk while you read and feed DS?

NotSoThinLizzy · 10/09/2018 21:51

She's nearly 9. So even if he took her into her room and did stories or something it's a good idea

You have my sympathies, our DD is showing some classic ADHD behaviour and our bedtime rountine has to be really set in stone or it’s mayhem Thanks

NotSoThinLizzy · 11/09/2018 07:41

She's also waiting to get tested for autism. So yesterday went good did all the naps early and he went to sleep at 9 after an hour of trying 😂 but then slept all night so we'll see how today goes
