  1. Standing around looking hard as nails in the hall
  2. On the wall next to tumble dryer in utility room trying to blend in with the white wall
  3. Walked boldly across kitchen floor in full view
  4. Walked across induction hob!!! Tonight!

They have all been treated humanely and captured with the cup and cardboard method and then released - far, far away (as in not just outside).

It's the males apparently searching for a female. They're just cluelessly wandering around and I don't like it!

Well, it's that time of year, innit?

Also, as you've been humane in your evictions thus far, are you sure its not just the same one coming back over and over?

Maybe time for a good squish?

We have had dozens of spiders over the past few weeks. Mostly spindly almost invisible things but also a few big crunchy looking horrors. Am hoping spider season is over soon!

I’ve named one! She’s called Freya and currently sat eyeballing me from the floor!

I’m pretty sure she is a giant house spider but not getting close enough for a positive identification.

She’s been spotted around the house for 3 weeks now.

Any spider which can out live 2 dogs and 4 cats surely deserves to be left alone??

Can't do the squish!!! Not fair on the spider!

We have the spindly ones at work in our ladies loo, they have been giving birth to several huge litters and don't bother me, it's the big menacing courageous ones!

We had one in the living room last week. It kept clomping from under the sofa to under the chair - you could hear its footsteps before you saw it. We have named him Bernard, he can stay for now until he gets too big to tolerate.
Huge monster on the kitchen wall yesterday (not as big as Bernard though). I went in the garage to retrieve my humane spider catcher gadget and he had gone by the time I get back (shudder).
Teen son found one just chilling out on his windowsill watching him play bass. He was disposed off with the cup and cardboard method.
They are BIG this year!
