Hit me with your recommendations for men's slippers that last really well!

Trying to find some slippers for OH that aren't eye-wateringly expensive and will last beyond 6 months... He does tend to wear them out quite quickly! Uggs get good reviews for their longevity but can't afford them unfortunately. Sheepskin preferred but anything considered!

I bought my DH a pair of Barbour ones that have lasted well. I've made him wear them with socks to avoid them getting smelly.

Blankiefan · 08/09/2018 16:57

I have a pair of Campers that DH bought me in 2009 and are still going strong.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 08/09/2018 16:57

Have a look at Celtic Sheepskin. Not sure how slipper prices compare, but their boots are def. cheaper than Uggs. Made in Cornwall, too. I've bought several pairs for Christmas presents.

Thanks all, good tips Smile Campers look great, still quite pricey but obviously you get what you pay for!

DH has these

LilyChantilly · 08/09/2018 21:01

Ooh they look lovely SchnitzelVonKrumm (with a very low tum Grin ) but they don't seem to ship to the UK. Definitely need some with a good sole for going outside otherwise OH will ruin them by going outside anyway!

Mahabi's . I've had mine 4 years and they're still good.

LilyChantilly · 08/09/2018 21:18

I love the look and style of Mahabis bullet but more than I can afford sadly Sad

Second the Celtic Sheepskin’

MoonlightandMusic · 08/09/2018 22:24

Well, they're inexpensive but, surprisingly, a version of these from M&S have been going strong for four years now, including being inadvertently used as shoes for a day by DH on more than one occasion. Grin

LilyChantilly · 08/09/2018 23:14

Ha ha Moonlight Grin I've set out from home a few times myself before realising I was still wearing my slippers! With a hard sole the boundaries between shoe and slipper are certainly blurred... They do look good and pretty sturdy. They'll be going on my list of ones to consider! I would like to get him some with a fleecy real sheepskin lining but that does tend to push the price up Confused

I have Ugg slippers and they are fabulous

LilyChantilly · 08/09/2018 23:24

If only I had £120 to spare to buy him some Ugg Ascots...

OP posts:
MoonlightandMusic · 09/09/2018 00:00

Indeed! If you like the Ascots, or sheepskin lined in general, might be worth looking up a few Aussie/NZ sites, given they're coming into summer you might find something on sale. I've saved more than a few pounds by buying merino & silk base layers that way.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 09/09/2018 09:17

Bought DH's in North London so they must - maybe Google?

BikeRunSki · 09/09/2018 09:39

another vote for Celtic Sheepskin. Now called Celtic & Co. not cheap, but machine washable and mine are still going strong after 7 years.

LilyChantilly · 09/09/2018 18:28

I know it makes sense to spend more up front to get a better quality product that will last longer, just don't have the money to do it! The Celtic slippers look gorgeous so I will keep looking for those in a sale or something. Good advice about Aussie and NZ sites - will check them out. Schnitzel - I'll look out for a UK stockist of the slippers you suggested as they also look lovely. Thanks again everyone Smile

DH has deerfoams, they still look like new. We picked them up from Costco for £14.
