When you overhear one side of a conversation and think "WTF"?

Yesterday on the train a man was talking, well shouting really, excitedly with someone on the phone. He was speaking another language but would occasionally shout a random sentence in English. The lines in English were "Gerrard is dead...he has to die" and "..poison him"

I wondered if Gerrard was an animal but he then said "Maybe suicide or something" and "They are going on holiday".

Lots more shouting in a mix of English (with references to Gerrard having to die) and the other language before he finally got off the train. The carriage was silent until someone said "Anyone else wondering who or what Gerrard is?" which made everyone laugh.

Assuming he wasn't referring to the ex footballer or a fictional character I'm left deeply intrigued and concerned that there is man called Gerrard walking about with a bullseye on his backGrin Anyone else ever head bizzare one sided conversations?

Steven Gerrard is a manager now so it could be him they were on about 😂

How odd though?
