Words that give you the rage

Words that I find irrationally irritating

Grab

Bits

literally

Pop

I might literally pop to the shop and grab some bits Angry

What words give you the rage?

Yes to most of these. And may I respectfully submit: icon. Completely overused, and usually wrongly.

AsleepAllDay · 08/09/2018 09:05

When a man talks about a 'female' or 'females' instead of a woman

Purplehammer · 08/09/2018 09:08

Popped in (could be very messy)
Jumped in the shower ( risk of injury)
Throwing a party ( could harm bystanders)

BeatriceJoanna · 08/09/2018 09:22

Many of my most disliked words have been mentioned already but can I add awesome.

My grandchildren sometimes watch Youtube videos when they're round and you hear the word 'awesome' applied to such various things so often that it loses all meaning.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 08/09/2018 09:29

Babes.

RottenApple · 08/09/2018 09:34

Chillax Angry

"Got me in the feels"

Moist

When people describe all foods as "tasty"

Anyone who uses the word "baby" as if it's their child's name. "I fed baby" "I put baby in the cot" unless they're named after a character in dirty dancing, it is annoying.

When a man talks about a 'female' or 'females' instead of a woman

This always makes me smile. DH and I say it in a Martin from Friday Night Dinner voice.

Pickingflowers · 08/09/2018 10:07

The way Greg Wallace on Masterchef says 'sauce'.

buckingfrolicks · 08/09/2018 10:22

Garnish. As in

"Steak with a salad garnish"

Also "all the trimmings".

MinaPaws · 08/09/2018 12:16

OK, if I can't have inexorably OP Grin I'll agree with PP about myself and add yourself used when me and you would do.
Alwasy makes me think of tiny brains and massive egos in cheesy suits saying, 'That would be myself, Sralan.'

9amtrain · 08/09/2018 12:39

I'm glad someone else mentioned 'tasty', always hated it but soo many people say it.

Igletpiglet · 08/09/2018 17:39

Beverage

Omega16 · 08/09/2018 22:45

Just trying to explain to dp his incorrect use of myself makes me rage.

When healthy people use 'making memories' AngryAngryAngry

HUN - I hate being called it. It just sounds so fake.

BikeRunSki · 09/09/2018 06:24

Unique - when you really mean “unusual”
Gender - when you really mean “sex”
Hun

notsureofname · 09/09/2018 06:44

Keeper - as in new boyfriend.

Babybearsporij · 09/09/2018 06:48

Sarnie shudders

wowfudge · 09/09/2018 07:33

To the poster upthread, 'ta' is a contraction of thank you. Just to confuse things, 'ta-ta' means goodbye and 'ta-ra' was what Cheggers used to say instead of 'ta-ta', which annoyed my mum.

I hate 'off of'. It's from - perfectly good, single word which has been widely in use for many, many years.

RumCustard · 09/09/2018 07:41

Hun. Mom. Wanna. Totes. Whatevs.

booboobutt · 09/09/2018 07:42

"Pathetic"

And

"Stunning"

I don't know why.

Jaxtellerswife · 09/09/2018 07:45

Meal
My brother can't stand the word 'enjoy' when related to food

Clevs · 09/09/2018 07:52

Of, when it's used instead of 'have'

Any sentence that someone types starting 'so'.

fieryginger · 09/09/2018 07:57

Hun!! It's so insincere.

Cuz - my cousins say it all the time.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 09/09/2018 07:57
