Boob. In particular, when it is used as a verb. “Boobed him to sleep” makes me think that you battered him over the head with your boob till he fell asleep.

NerrSnerr · 08/09/2018 06:11

Yum, especially when people say 'I had beans oh toast for tea. Yum'. Annoys me every time.

AsleepAllDay · 08/09/2018 06:24

'You alright?' ughhhh

tillytop · 08/09/2018 06:32

When something has the "wow factor"

tillytop · 08/09/2018 06:37

and I turned around and said and she turned around and said Yes this! What is all this turning around anyway? Are people having conversations back to back? Grin

wheresthechocolate · 08/09/2018 06:42

Impacted.

tillytop · 08/09/2018 06:57

tillytop · 08/09/2018 06:59

"chick" for woman! Boak...

PuntCuffin · 08/09/2018 07:13

Nip it in the bud.

Every time someone is advising an OP to get their OH to stop something. Even when it has been going on for 20 years, when the whole point of the annoying phrase is to stop something before it starts. 'oh, you have to nip it in the bud'. It's fully blossomed, produced fruit and grown a whole orchard. It's too late to 'nip it in the bud'.

There was a thread earlier this week where 4 posters used it in consecutive posts. Argh!

Sourcing
I have a friend who is always 'sourcing' things for her new house, she bloody shopping isn't she!

allthatmalarkey · 08/09/2018 07:49

Titties
In the same vein, hooters
Anything that suggests they're just toys for other people not things that if you touch them the wrong way, I will want to hit you and if you touch them when I don't want you to, that constitutes assault.

TillyTheTiger · 08/09/2018 07:52

Bubba or bubs. Just say baby!

allthatmalarkey · 08/09/2018 07:52

And yes to curates when not applied to museums and galleries. But maybe language just changes over time. Sigh.

Which brings me to incorrect usage of blatant and critique.

WilburIsSomePig · 08/09/2018 07:53

Same as lots of you:

Famalam (i really hate that)
Hubster and all its varients
Lil man
Draws instead of drawers
Myself, used incorrectly
Invite instead of invitation.

WilburIsSomePig · 08/09/2018 07:55

WilburIsSomePig · 08/09/2018 08:08

Meds

One of my favourite ever threads on here was a poster talking about her 'meds'. Turned out those meds were Lemsip or paracetamol or similar because she had a cold. It was super.

Party nibbles - I imagine a room full of squirrrel people holding food with both hands and gnawing on it with their incisors.

Gently - tell her gently that you don't want to go pot holing. No, just fucking tell her.
