Want to get my first ever Yankee Candle advent calendar as a treat for myself and something to look forward to. Where is the best place to buy it and for what kind of price?

Boots did one last year in their 3 for 2 offer which was pretty good

Im gonna lurk and see where other people get theirs

MountainsPlease · 08/09/2018 18:32

Thanks. Boots online is showing as £25 but it’s out of stock? Saw one on candles direct for £15 which I’m guessing is from a few years ago? Amazon has one from last year. I’m guessing candles keep their smell for a few years?

Is that cos its last years and they haven't got this years yet?

IAmLurkacus · 08/09/2018 18:52

Groupon sometimes do them. I usually buy in sale and save to the following year. Scent stays.

itsbetterwithoutyou · 08/09/2018 19:03

Last year B & M did a Yankee Candle advent calendar it was about £12 - don't bother with it, the scent was very poor.

Caggie09 · 08/09/2018 19:06

Try house of Harris, im sure they do them too!

Caggie09 · 08/09/2018 19:08

Just checked. Out of stock🙈

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2018 19:40

I got one last year on the 23rd Dec for £10 .
I am a massive YC fan but hand on heart , the AC wasn;t something I'd buy again.

I don't like Christmas Eve (the candle) , I;m not spoiling any surprises that it;s in there Wink

There were IIRC 3 different scents so it got a bit same-ey.

My favourite YC festive scents are Sparkling Cinnamon, Red Apple Wreath (any of the spiced apple really) and the Spiced Orange one.
I buy a large jar (or three) for December and one of those candles that you burn the number down.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2018 19:41

Oh , QVC did a double set of the little house with 8 votives which was miles better scentwise.

MountainsPlease · 08/09/2018 20:18

Thanks 70s, so better to just buy Christmas scented candles?

This year's hasn't been released yet. I usually get it from amazon for about £20.

DONT GET LAST YEARS. The smell fades away.

LadyLannister · 08/09/2018 20:56

I got one a couple of years ago and was so excited, but it was massively disappointing. I could barely smell the tea lights when they were burning and it was the same few tea lights over and over again. I think there was only about 4 different scents which was really disappointing. I wouldn’t buy one again.

SymphonyofShadows · 08/09/2018 21:17

I got a set from Boots last year of a big jar candle and various other sizes. They usually have a offer on it sometime in November. It was much better value than the advent calendar.

Caggie09 · 08/09/2018 21:33

Im pretty sure they have about 3 you can pick from this year, and ones about £80! Still the same stuff though. Maybe one mini candle!

Fstar · 08/09/2018 21:39

Love yankee but not the tealights, treat yourself to a couple of medium,or a large one instead (ebay is good prices)

SoyDora · 08/09/2018 21:42

I’d also say don’t bother, I was really excited for mine but the tea lights hardly give off any smell. I’d say just buy yourself a full size Yankee candle in your favourite Christmas scent.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 09/09/2018 07:42

Agree I was disappointed in mine as well and I was a huge Yankee fan at the time. Treat yourself to your favourite Christmas candle or some melt things if you use them you’ll enjoy those much more.

CheekyRedhead · 09/09/2018 08:54

I paid £10 online last year. Seen the £15 candles direct one that I was considering. Last year Clintons reduced theirs.
Which design was last year's as not sure the one I got my mum was the current years?

CheekyRedhead · 09/09/2018 08:56

House of Harris! That's where my £10 was form

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/09/2018 10:37

I get loads of Christmas candles

Love the woodwick fir one and john lewis/white company winter candle and the yankee cinnamon

But i i do love an advent calendar Grin though if i am being very honest i do gaze at the packet resentfully if im behind in lighting them or i really want to light another make. And the odd one is a bit WTF

IAmLurkacus · 09/09/2018 10:45

Oooh thanks for the house of Harris tip! Why had I not heard of them before?

MountainsPlease · 10/09/2018 18:49

Decided to spend £18 on 72 tea lights and put them in the advent calendar we already have to make my own, and have many many spares!
