One of mine is just before Christmas one year we had fish and chips for dinner and we were allowed to eat it in front of the telly. We always ate at the table it was a really rare thing. We watched Watership Down.

We were always allowed to stay up late to watch the Eurovision Song Contest every year too.

I used to love our family holidays at the beach we went to Hornsea and loved it we paddled with my Dad and built dams with him it was special as he worked a lot I used to love it when he was on holiday.

Don't even buy my dc DM as too bad a memory.
Remember getting a toy orangutan and it's own outfits as a get well gift!!

Whenever my nana (lived with us) won at bingo she'd call in the chippy on the way home for a big portion of chips and some potato scallops. I'd be got up out of bed to share the treat - it would only have been about 8:30pm but seemed sooooo late and grown up to me.

Getting a key to the house instead of having to sit in the garden until my parents came home.

My dad taking me to the local paper shop and buying me a stamp set on fireworks night because I was and am still terribly afraid of them. Very kind of him to distract me.

Sundays on the way home from seeing Nan, and going to Church without Dad who'd wait in the pub He'd take us into the local papershop and get a bit bottle of Pop to go with the sunday roast.
We used to do a foreign beach holiday each year and Dad entertained us on the plane balancing coins, and using a big hankey to do rubbish magic.
Chistmas parties by the factory he worked at, it would be a trip to a Panto and then the factory canteen for sandwiches and cakes and a visit with father Christmas. Do factories still do this?
Mum taking Dsis and myself out to all day breakfast every Saturday, then doing the weekly shop and carrying it home on the bus.

I remember once going to the "Christmas treat" in the village hall. There was a tea and Santa came with presents.i think that's the only thing, my parents didn't have money to waste on treats or holidays.
