Festival fancy dress

I'm off to a hen party where the theme is Festival / Glastonbury, and was merrily going to wear my wellies until someone reminded me that we might not get into bars that way. Putting all that sexist BS aside, can anyone help with suggestions as to what might pass for city-friendly Glasto-chic? Others are doing maxi-dresses but being a shorty I don't have such a thing. Help!

Tshirt dress, flip flops/strappy sandals, coloured shades and headband?
(Can you tell its a looong time since I went to a festival)

You need body glitter. Lots and lots of it. Hotpants and glitter bum if you are feeling brave and shameless, face glitter if not. Henna tattoos? You can get henna cones cheap as chips on amazon. Paterns on internet. Job done!

I was amazed this summer that festival chic has changed little since the late 1990s. That shitey stuff imported from poor south american countries (and made most probably for a pittance) is still massive: ponchos, horrible stripy, rough, woven cotton garments, tie dyed scarves, jewellery with runic symbols etc.

Top ideas. I just found a packet of bindis from c.1994. They'll do.

You got any Doc Martens? Wear them instead of wellies.
