Can I replace the key part of a key fob?

If so, how?
Dh broke the key part of my car keys so I still have the fob, I’d like to get a replacement for the key ASAP but don’t fancy the prices charged!

Anyone just bought the key part?

I don't know but wouldn't think so, hasn't the key snapped off? I recently had this. I got a replacement key fob off ebay £10. The key it's attached already. Then i took to a key cutting place, they cut the new key on the fob from the old key shape. Took the immobilizer out off my original key fob and put into the new fob. I was charged £10 for them doing this. So £20 in total.

Ah, so you needed the old key to copy from?
Bummer. Think we will have to shell out for the whole thing.

Did your DH lose the car key part? Do you have a spare car key? You would need one to copy from I think, but having said that they must somehow be able to cut a new one, but that's probably more expensive than just copying.

Bummer! Do you have a spare set that could be copied?
