His mum tells me tonight, he was sick last night, proabaly something he ate, fine today, will send him in tomorrow. He was sick last night!!!

I reminded her it's 48 hours. She says oh, he didn't have a temp, he's fine today...

FFS. I have emetophobia. And no fucking wonder with parents like that going around.

AIBU??????

You are NBU. It takes the piss. If everybody stuck to the 48 hour rule then tummy bugs wouldn’t spread so much. It makes me so angry.

Actually lots of schools only have a 24 hour rule so yes she is unreasonable to break that rule but in other schools the child would be required to return. If there has been no fever and no diarrhoea but just a one off sickness then it is less likely to be a stomach bug.

So under the rules of your and many schools YANBU but as long as good hygiene is observed probably from this child the chances of catching something are not that high.

Should say that if I thought my child had actually had a stomach bug rather than been sick randomly once then even though the rule is to return after 24 hours I would leave it 48 hours.
