As title really - DD (7) has been for the first time tonight and loved it. Just wanted to hear opinions and views on it! It looks promising and has some interesting topics.

DD is 9yo and has been in Brownies for a year and a half. She loves it but has taken a bit of time to find her feet. She's really enjoying trying new things via the badges and I really like that she has made some friends outside of school (not that we see them outside of Brownies, but that DD at least has a different group of kids she's interacting with).

yes that's what i liked about it - its independent of school. plus i think she will enjoy the badges. i must admit i didn't realise how much effort they put into them! is there anything you don't like about it?

Dd1 has been going since she was 7. She's almost 9 now. She loves it but she's a rule following convergent child. Suits dd1 down to the ground

Mine loved it! Had lots of fun and has just joined guides which she thinks is even better Smile

Mine did rainbows and has just moved up to brownies. She's struggling a little with the more structured aspect of it compared to the general chaos that was rainbows but think that's slightly because our brown owl is a v old fashioned one who still runs it a little like it was when I went (a long time ago!).

Overall she's excited by the badge book so we'll see how it goes. I'd love her to keep going for the friends out of school aspect of it alone. Plus her DB is obsessed with cubs and I'm dreaming of them both camping at the same time in the future Wink

My Dd did Brownies from 7-10 yo and loved it. They did lots of crafts and art-type activities, and they also did games, camps and the leaders were wonderful. She didn't want to leave! It was also good for her confidence and self esteem in that she got to be a sixer which she was so pleased about. She's 11 now and at guides, which is an adjustment as the girls are older and it's in a different village, but she's enjoying it so far.

My DD is 7 And is loving Brownies!

She’s in it with a lot of girls from her one form entry school, but also others from the area so I like the idea that they’re meeting more local kids and might have a fighting chance of knowing more when they go to high school!

My nearly 10 year old has been a brownie since 7, and loves it. She went to Paris with the brownies over the summer and they had an amazing time. Fantastic memories made. She’ll move to guides soon and is looking forward to that

I'm a Brown Owl and I'm so glad your DD enjoyed herself! We had 8 new girls start this evening - it was chaotic but lots of fun.

ah so many positive stories! I'm excited for her. I've been on the website and it seems like good fun.

My Dd loved it so much she became a young leader at her Brownie pack age 18. Fantastic organisation lovely that she's giveng something back

It's a fun group and I think these clubs are really helpful for girls to develop resilience and self confidence outside of school environment
